Paper presentations

Conference sessions will be 90 minutes for the presentation of three papers or longer if more than 3 papers are scheduled (see the Program in day view) and will include a presentation of 15 minutes and 15 minutes for audience discussion.

Symposium
Sessions will be 90 minutes and should be planned to allow ample time for discussion.

Interactive Sessions
Sessions will be 90 minutes.
Interactive sessions are meant to encourage creative and innovative strategies for engaging the audience in dialogue about a topic.

  1. Interactive poster session where a set of posters are provided, an introduction given, time for people to circulate, followed by open discussion.
  2. Interactive panel that provides opportunities for participants to discuss a subject with each other and with members of the audience in an informal manner.
  3. Fire Hose session
Fire hose sessions are meant to allow conference attendees to optimally interact with as many (up to 10) presenters as possible in a short amount of time. The format is such that this is possible. The session begins with 3-minute presentations of each presenter (one beamer is available, no poster presentation boards) of the main points of a presentation. At that point, the session breaks with each presenter at a separate table where (s)he can have a 10-minute presentation and interact for 10 minutes with attendees. At the end of 20 minutes attendees can switch tables to interact with another presenter in the same way. This is followed by a final switch.

Poster presentation
Poster sessions will last 90 minutes. The presenter must be available for discussion throughout the Poster Session.
Presenters will be provided with a poster panel size: 90 cm wide by 140 cm high (36 in by 55 in). Adhesive material will be provided. (Please note that you are not allowed to use your own adhesives.) If you need assistance you are more than welcome to come to the desk.
If you are using a computer as part of your display, you will have wireless access to the Internet. However, there may not be sufficient power for all tables.
