The CSCL 2013 Call For Proposals The ICLS 2014 Call For Proposals is Now Available. The ISLS board of directors has decided to support and promote the
exciting new Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Dictionary initiative.
This means that our society agrees to stimulate and invite
contributions to the Dictionary and associated multi-national
Thesaurus. Contributions include commenting on existing definitions and
translations, proposing new terms to define at the intersection of TEL
and the Learning Sciences, proposing new editors of terms and just
generally making suggestions to develop this initiative. The International
Society of the Learning Sciences is a professional society
dedicated to the interdisciplinary empirical investigation of learning
as it exists in real-world settings and how learning may be facilitated
both with and without technology.
The society is widely interdisciplinary and
includes members from cognitive science, educational psychology,
computer science, anthropology, sociology, information sciences,
neurosciences, education, design studies, instructional design,
and other fields. Currently the society includes members from six
continents and provides unprecedented opportunities for collegial
interaction across national boundaries in this field.
ISLS sponsors: Two journals—the Journal of the Learning Sciences (JLS) and the International Journal of Computer Support for Collaborative Learning (IJCSCL), and two conference series—the International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS) and the International Conference on Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL).
