Annual Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center Summerschool - Free! Now accepting applications on-line (through Midnight, April 2) The PSLC Summer School will be an intensive 1-week course on technology-enhanced learning experiments and building intelligent tutoring systems. The summer school will provide a conceptual background and considerable hands-on experience in designing, setting up, and running technology-enhanced learning experiments, as well as analyzing the data from those experiments in a technology supported manner. The summer school will last five days. Each day will include lectures, discussion sessions, and laboratory sessions where the participants will work on developing a small prototype experiment in an area of math, science, or language learning. The participants will use state-of-the-art tools including but not limited to the Cognitive Tutor Authoring Tools and other tools for course development, TuTalk tools for authoring natural language dialog, TagHelper tools for semi-automated coding of verbal data, and storing and mining of student interaction data. Learning Patterns project is offering a video course on using Learning
Patterns to design and deploy games for learning. This course is based
on a series of workshops conducted during 2006. Each section of the
course includes a video segment from one of our workshops, along with
links to the relevant resources and tools and a list of readings. Call for papers for the fourth special issue
in the series Cognition and Technology--Learning Technologies
and Cognition The interaction of learning
technologies with human cognition is the focus of this special Issue.
Of interest is how such technologies may facilitate and enhance (as
well as hinder) learning, and also how they affect the way we learn
and acquire information, and the nature of cognition itself. Original
and high quality papers that examine these issues either from an academic
or from a practical perspective will be considered for publication. Call For Papers: International Journal of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning
