of Study Back to Job Announcements Main Faculty Positions Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure track) Program in Educational Communication and Technology, The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, New York University (Application reviews begin October 25, 2007 until position filled) The ECT program offers masterīs and doctoral degrees that prepare individuals for leadership positions in the application of cognitive theory and related views of learning and instruction to technology-based learning environments. We are seeking an individual with interests in educational technology/learning sciences with a focus on the study of teaching and learning and additional interests in either applied psychology, or cultural, health, or other applications in the wider media environment. Responsibilities: Collaborate in the development of curricular, research and service initiatives; pursue an active research and publication agenda; engage in educational media design and development projects; teach graduate level courses in the design and development of technology based learning environments; advise students. Qualifications: Doctorate in educational technology, learning sciences, or related field, interest in the study of teaching and learning, strong background in cognitive theory as related to the design and study of technology-based learning environments; potential to design and engage in a program of interdisciplinary scholarship in educational technology with the participation of graduate students; knowledge of research methodologies, preferably both quantitative and qualitative; strong record or potential for research, publication and external funding.
