NAPLeS

The Network of Academic Programs in the Learning Sciences (NAPLeS) is a network of Ph.D. and Master’s programs in the Learning Sciences

NAPLeS is part of the educational mission of the International Society of the Learning Sciences. It was officially founded at the 2012 ICLS meeting.

The overall mission of NAPLeS is to foster high quality Learning Sciences programs internationally through several mechanisms that support teaching and learning.

As of October 2020, 60 programs from 39 universities representing countries in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia have joined NAPLeS.

For Scholars

NAPLeS supports the exchange of ideas in teaching and research. We have curated a collection of resources consisting of webinars and videos, syllabi, suggested readings, and learning activities for the design of introductory courses into the Learning Sciences. Here scholars are also able to explore the curricula and a collection of syllabi from other programs.

For Students

NAPLeS offers an international network, and they benefit from specific expertise in other programs as well as from visiting scholar opportunities and possible international supervision for their research.

The overall mission of NAPLeS is to foster high quality Learning Sciences programs internationally through several mechanisms that support teaching and learning:

Supporting the exchange between academic programs in the Learning Sciences

Collecting, creating, and curating:

Supporting visiting scholarships for students to engage with Learning Sciences programs other than their own
Supporting the international supervision of doctoral research
