    Les Nuits de Fourvière - From June 1st to July 30th
    Shows not to be missed!


    Pure Dance by Natalia Osipova, a star dancer trained at the Bolshoi, and later the American Ballet Theatre in New York and the Royal Ballet in London. To be performed for the first time in France, the six-part Pure Dance reveals all of the richness of her artistic palette. On the 14th of June.
    Cirque Eloize is celebrating its 25th anniversary and presents Hotel, its latest creation and a French premiere, bringing together 12 acrobats and musicians in a breathtaking show. From the 17th to the 22nd of June.
    The Pockemon Crew, local hip-hop dancers with an international reputation, are returning to the stage of the Grand Théâtre to celebrate their 20th anniversary with fireworks... Which is perfect as it will be the 14th of July!
    Zingaro Equestrian Theatre by Bartabas, a one-of-a-kind “equestrian theater”... As an attempt to perform a ritual without memory, this will be a ceremony where the spectators will be amazed to contemplate the animal as the mirror of humanity. (more information here)

    Brocante du Vieux-Lyon (flea market) - From Saturday 15 to Sunday 16 June

    Every year for Pentecost, the renaissance district hosts a large flea market based around the Cathedrale Saint Jean.
    Sixty or so exhibitors, including antique and second-hand goods dealers from different regions, sell postcards, antique furniture, themed documents, folk art, as well as other arts and crafts.

    Fête de la Musique - 21st June

    The Fête de la Musique, also known as Music Day, is an annual music celebration that takes place on 21 June.
    On Music Day the citizens of a city or country are allowed and urged to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks. Free concerts are also organized, where musicians play for fun and not for payment.

    The first all-day musical celebration on the day of the summer solstice was originated by the French Minister of Culture, Jack Lang, and by Maurice Fleuret, and was first celebrated in Paris in 1982. Music Day later became celebrated in 120 countries around the world.

    The Lyon Creative Market is an open-air and open-access exhibition space. Here, 150 art creators sell their original works every Sunday morning. Painters, engravers, sculptors, photographers and craftsmen from all walks of life meet an audience of art lovers, but also curious visitors. The public can meet the artists and discuss with them their artistic approaches, acquire a work of art or order an original creation. The Creation Market takes place every Sunday morning on the banks of the Saône River (quai Romain Rolland) in the heart of the most beautiful historic district - Le Vieux Lyon. http://www.quaidesartistes-lyon.fr/ (in French)
