    ISLS 2023 Data Privacy Notice

    Data collection of Participant Data during Registration

    The following data, subsequently called “participant data”, will be transmitted to us and stored during ISLS 2023 conference registration:

    • Name
    • Email
    • Institution
    • Country
    • Position
    • Member status

    The purpose of data collection is to process your registration. We use your Email Address, Name, Institution, Position, and Country to connect you to our Conference Event Software Whova. We may use your participant data for organizational reasons to provide you with further information on workshops, documents or presentations from us or our speakers before, during and after the conference. The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

    Data processing is US-based and corresponding data protection guidelines apply.

    Data collection of Participant Data during the Conference

    ISLS 2023 is an in-person and hybrid event. We will be using technology prior to, during, and after the event to leverage possibilities for you to engage & interact with fellow researchers and to support community building.

    At ISLS 2023 the following event technologies will be used:

    • Whova Apps (US) will be used for presentations, session management and networking (Whova’s Data Privacy Policy)
    • Gather.town (US) will be used for networking and community building (Gather’s Privacy Policy)
    • The International Society of the Learning Sciences is the data controller. You may exercise your rights as outlined in the GDPR, including your rights to access, of rectification, cancellation, limitation of processing, opposition, and of data portability. Contact ISLS: [email protected].
