Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Learning Design and Implementation Sciences in the Faculty of Education, the University of Hong Kong

Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Learning Design and Implementation Sciences (2 positions) in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 503188), to commence on August 1, 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.  Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Professor/Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms subject to approval.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in education-related disciplines represented by the Faculty, along with expertise in the scholarship and practice of interdisciplinary curriculum design, implementation and assessment.  Successful candidates should be specialists in learning design and design thinking with emphasis on pedagogical innovations. Such innovations can inform what is worth knowing and therefore teaching because they are responsive to 1) different kinds of learners and diverse ways of knowing; 2) multiple contexts (subject, environments or place, cultural, linguistic, policy); 3) learning pathways or progressions; and 4) international trends and challenges whether technological, practical, empirical, or conceptual. They should also be specialists in implementation sciences, an emerging field that attends to both the design of learning and the fidelity of implementation to design. This new area, building on the work in the field of curriculum study, implementation and evaluation, has been fueled by rising interest in evidence-based practice, new and inclusive models of accountability and assessment, and measuring impact.

The University of Hong Kong only accepts online application for the above posts.  Applicants should apply online. Further details can be obtained from https://tinyurl.com/ax279vfw.
