Professorship of grade W3 (m/f/d)
for Learning Analytics and Educational Data Mining

to be filled at the earliest possible date as a tenured position.

The University of Augsburg is looking for candidates with a strong empirical profile in educational research or learning sciences. The research focus of the candidates should be on the collection and analysis of (socio-)cognitive, motivational-affective and/or behavioral instructional and learning processes as well as their facilitation with technology-based automated methods. Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge regarding methods of Educational Data Mining, Machine Learning or the application of Artificial Intelligence for the facilitation of instructional and learning processes is expected. Substantial success in the acquisition of third-party funding and internationally high-ranked publications are expected. The position will be part of the existing research focus “Research on Learning and Instruction”. Teaching obligation is 9 teaching hours in courses of studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences.

Employment requirements are a university degree in a relevant empirical field of educational or social sciences, teaching skills, the ability to pursue scientific work, which is generally demonstrated by a doctorate, as well as a habilitation or proof of equivalent scientifically relevant achievements which may also have been collected in the context of a junior professorship.

An appointment to the civil service can only be made until the age of 52 (Art. 10 Abs. 3 Satz 2 BayHSchPG). Exemptions are only possible in exceptional cases.
